Use of a miniature 3-component force sensor in connection with pneumatic tires and a tire test bench
DRIVE
December 1, 2004
The miniaturized three-part sensor (1) may measure pressures of up to 10 Mega-Pascal, converting pressure signals into electrical signals. The sensor may be pressed against through rubber of a vehicle tire. The sensor has a central post (2) surrounded by a deep groove, with a thickened flange outside the groove. The diameter of the sensor may be approximately 0.7 mm. Vertical (Fn) and horizontal forces (Ft) may be applied to the central post.
