The console has a body slidingly mounted with respect to a base (12) between a front end position and a back end position. An end (132) of a cable (110) is connected to the body and another end of the cable is connected to the base. The cable has a rigid section (136) that is displaced with the body and the base, in a guiding tunnel of the base.
