The piston pump (18) has a housing (34) and at least one component (20,22,30) mounted on the side of the housing. The housing has a polygonal cross-section with lateral surfaces (40a,..) at least in sections and at least one of the components is arranged near a straight lateral surface. The lateral surfaces are at least approximately of the same size.
