Method for controlling the climate control system in a motor vehicle in which: a first set of characterizing values are determined, a second set of values are input, a first parameter is determined based on the first and second set of values, a control value is measured and an actuator signal is output based on the first parameter and the first control value. At least a part of the climate control is not operated with energy from the combustion engine for at least a part of the time. An independent claim is made for a climate control system that is not operated with energy derived from the combustion engine for at least a part of the time.
