Air intake system for an internal combustion engine with at least two cylinder banks
DRIVE
November 17, 2004
The engine has at least two cylinder bank rows (4,6) with associated resonance containers with individual pipes leading to the engine. The resonance chambers are joined by cross-channels with switching flaps (16,18). One cross-channel (12) is supplied with air by a line containing at least one choke and air mass sensor. The air feed line has two pipes leading to a cross-channel that converge into a common pipe section (34) upstream in which the choke flap (36) and sensor (38) are arranged.
