A charging device (2) has a fan device (24) for cooling the battery pack (6) during the charging process, The fan device (24) is arranged so that it feeds air from the interior to the outside of the charging device (2) and that and air inflow aperture (52) is provided in a housing wall bordering on the battery pack (6) inserted in the charging device (20 and that in operation the electronic units (20) of the charging device are cooled by the air flow (52) drawn into the charging device on its way to the fan device (24). An independent claim is included for an arrangement of a charging device and a battery pack.
