"textContent": "The invention discloses a device (300) for detecting the presence and type of trailer which may have been connected to a vehicle, comprising means for applying a first voltage to a first amount of power lines for a first sub system in the trailer and means for measuring the individual currents (i1-i5) consumed by components in said first sub system, including means for comparing said individual currents (i1-i5) to a first predefined threshold. The device additionally comprises means (310) for applying a second voltage to a second amount of power lines (311-315) in the first sub system in the trailer, and means for measuring the total current (itot) in said second amount of power lines, with means for comparing the total current (itot) in the second amount of power lines to a second threshold, and decision making means adapted to decide which kind of trailer if any that is connected to the vehicle, based on said measured currents.",
