Membrane electrode assemblies
DRIVE
November 3, 2004
In a reel-to-reel method for making membrane electrode assemblies (44), a first catalyst (12) is deposited in a repeating cell pattern on a first side of a proton exchange membrane film (10). A second catalyst is deposited on the rear side of the proton exchange membrane (10). An electron conductor material (20) is deposited on a support film (16) which is adhered by means of an adhesive film (24) to the proton exchange membrane film (10). The various layers are aligned and laminated together to form the membrane electrode assembly (44).
