Transfer drive mode switching control system
DRIVE
October 27, 2004
A transfer control unit allows switching operation between predetermined two different drive mode positions corresponding to both ends of the working range of a shift actuator at which motion of shift actuator is stopped mechanically in presence of failure in a drive mode position sensor. The transfer control unit is electrically connected to the drive mode position sensor and shift actuator to output a control command signal based on the drive mode position information to the shift actuator, and control switching between the drive mode positions responsively to a driver selected drive mode. The drive mode position sensor detects drive mode position switched by the shift actuator and generates information regarding the drive mode position. An independent claim is also included for a drive mode position switching control method.
