The connecting device has two connecting units (31, 32) moving with respect to each other, between a rest position and a working position when a portion of a belt strap is stretched. A return unit brings back the connecting units to the rest position. A tension indicator unit indicates whether the connecting device is in the rest position or working position. An independent claim is also included for an infant seat destined to be mounted in a motor vehicle.
