Roller blind for side windows

The side window roller blind has a rotatable truncated conical roller blind shaft, positioned vertically adjacent a side edge (25) of the side window or horizontally adjacent the bottom edge (24) of the side window, receiving a roller web (31) matched in shape over at least part of its length to the shape of the side window, with operation of the roller blind via a drive motor coupled to operating elements attached to the roller blind web via respective drive cogs of differing diameter.
