The airbag module has an airbag, a gas generator for inflating the air bag and a base plate (11) to which the air bag and gas generator are connected. The base plate has at least one reverse sprung attachment arm (19) for attaching the base plate to the vehicle's steering wheel (33). The at least one attachment arm is made in one piece with the base plate.
