Extensible awning and motor vehicle with awning

An extendable protective awning for a motor vehicle comprises a base frame (14) attached to the vehicle (10) and a rod (22) to move the protecting surface between the base and extended positions. The frame is arranged in the vehicle interior in the upper border of a door or window (12) so that the surface can extend through the open door/window. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising the above.
