The device (100) for the operating of a throttle valve (108) has an operating component such as a throttle twist grip (102), at least one throttle valve rotatable through an operating angle and kinematically connected to the operating component, and a transmission device installed in the path between the operating component and throttle valve to produce a progressive transmission characteristic corresponding to a progressive overall transmission function. The overall transmission function comprises at least one first and one second progressive part function.
