Device (VOR) for controlling the level of a vehicle, whereby the device has first means (MI1) for measuring the level of the vehicle body (WAK) and second means (MI2), which cooperate with the first, for regulating the vehicle body level, whereby at least a gear (GET) driven by an electric motor is provided for adjustment of the vehicle level. The invention also relates to a vehicle, especially a railway vehicle, with an inventive leveling device and use of the inventive device for balancing out pitch and roll movements of the vehicle body.
