A function is then deduced linking internal tire temperature to external tire temperature. Independent claims are made for a device for detecting abnormal function of a motor vehicle tire and a method for the same whereby: during normal running of a vehicle the external temperature is measured and used to estimate tire internal temperature. If there is a significant difference between measured and estimated internal temperatures incorrect tire functioning is indicated.",
