Fuel supply system for an internal combustion engine
DRIVE
September 15, 2004
Fuel is fed under pressure to a direct injection valve (DIV) on a cylinder head so as to deliver fuel directly into an internal combustion engine's (ICE) combustion chamber via the DIV. A supplementary injection valve (SIV) (17) in an ICE's intake area (18) provides additional fuel delivery (19) into an air stream (16) in a suction pipe (13). The DIV and SIV are assigned to a common controller.
