Fuel injector

A valve needle (14) operates a valve-closing body (15). A hydraulic coupler (40) has a piston (37) that partly engages into a retaining hole and forms a coupler gap (50,51) with the hole. The gap is filled with hydraulic fluid and surrounded by a first balancing area restricted by a first coupler membrane (41).
