Oil collecting device for an engine, particularly for a flat engine
DRIVE
September 15, 2004
An oil drip dish fits underneath a crankcase (2,4) to form an oil extraction area (OEA) (16), from which lubricating oil (LO) is fed to consumers via a main oil pump with an oil suction pipe. LO from the consumers returns via oil pipes (42,44) to oil collecting areas (OCA) (20,22) next to the OEA separated from the OCA by oil bulkhead walls (24,26) with a passage controlled by flaps (32,34).
