Motor vehicle with pedestrian protection

The road vehicle incorporates a pedestrian impact protection system. It has a top or front member (6) on a flexible mounting (8) on a side wing or fender (1) construction with resilient console (2). There may be a resilient member in the wheel arch connected to the console (3). The whole structure is designed to yield when the vehicle runs into a pedestrian.
