The temperature control mat, especially for cooling the covering (4) over a vehicle seat upholstery (7), has at least two thin plastics films bonded together to form a fluid chamber system (10) with a film thickness of 10 Microm to 1 mm, and preferably 200 Microm. The temperature control mat, especially for cooling the covering (4) over a vehicle seat upholstery (7), has at least two thin plastics films bonded together to form a fluid chamber system (10) with a film thickness of 10 Microm to 1 mm, and preferably 200 Microm. A number of openings (11) are distributed through the thin films and the mat. Initially a coolant fluid, e.g. water, is passed through the chamber system, which is then emptied, and an airflow is passed through a spacer structure (6) to evacuate any moisture through the openings.
