The shoulder padding (4) for a child's car seat has a support section (6), an energy absorber installed on the support section, and a reinforcing element in the form of a fabric layer installed between the support section and the energy absorber and which is rigidly connected to a fastening strap for the connection to the child's seat. The fastening strap may be sewn onto the reinforcing element or formed in one piece with it. A belt strap (2) is accommodated between the energy absorber and support section in such a way that it extends through the shoulder padding. An independent claim is included for a belt system of a child's car seat incorporating the aforesaid shoulder padding on the belt strap.
