Friction clutch (1) for a drive unit of a motor vehicle comprises a clutch release device (10) arranged in a housing (13) and having a clutch release bearing (12) and a hydraulic actuating device (11) with a cylinder housing (14) containing an actuating piston (15). The cylinder housing is attached to a support frame (16) formed independently of the housing and adjoining the internal combustion engine (2) and the friction clutch. Preferred Features: The support frame is fixed to a wall (18) of the engine forming an end side (17).
