Fixing device for a safety belt

August 25, 2004
Fixing device for a seatbelt (5) comprises at least one belt force-limiting element limiting the retaining force acting on a person protected by the seatbelt. Pre-determined yielding of the seatbelt is possible. The belt force-limiting element has a wire-winding device (600) from which at least one wire (100, 110) is unwound by a pre-determined tensile force. One end of the seatbelt is indirectly or directly connected to the wire so that the wire is pulled out of the wire-winding device as soon as the retaining force exerted by the seatbelt on the vehicle occupant reaches the pre-determined tensile force.
