The manifold housing has 2 outer shells (9,10) and an intermediate shell (8) welded to the flange plate, together defining 2 tapering spiral channels around the outside of the turbine wheel (16), one outer shell secured to the turbine wheel mounting (20), the other outer shell providing a mantle (22) for the turbine wheel.",
