A method and a system for torque control in a vehicle

A system and a method at an internal combustion engine with at least one valve per cylinder is presented. At least one signal (SL1) corresponding to a requested torque is received from a maneuvering device (2). Based on the requested torque, at least one running mode of the engine is determined. At least one of the running modes is interchangeable with at least one additional running mode. It is determined, based on the running mode or modes and on the requested torque, at least one control signal (SL2) for actuation of the valve. It is determined whether or not the valve actuation falls within predetermined limitations of the valve actuation: If it is determined that the actuation of the valve does not fall within the predetermined limitations, the requested torque signal (SL1) is adjusted so as to change at least one of the running modes.
