Silencer with variable tuning system and method of operating such a silencer

An exhaust processor (10) has an exhaust tube (18) and a cover (46) mounted for rotation at least partially around the exhaust tube (18) to adjust the tuning frequency of the exhaust processor (10). A method of operating the exhaust processor (10) is also disclosed.
