System and method for providing location dependent data for predictive information and assistance systems in a vehicle

System for provision of location dependent data for a predictive information or assistance system (5) in a vehicle with a map database (1), a vehicle locating system (2) and an interrogation system (3) for querying the map database. A communications arrangement, e.g. a data bus (4) links at least the vehicle locating system and the interrogation system. The predictive information or assistance system also has a direct two-way connection to the data bus. An independent claim is made for a method for provision of location dependent information for vehicle predictive information and or assistance systems.
