The lighting device has an electrical conductor (11), coupled to a light source (5) attached to a support element (4) secured to the automobile door at one end and fitted through an opening (2) in the automobile door, e.g. a lock cylinder opening, for connection with an electrical supply lead on the inside of the latter.
