Source
A hybrid transmission connected with a prime power source (3), including an input member (10) for receiving power input from the prime power source (3), a two degree-of-freedom gear mechanism (2;31) having a first axis (O1) and including at least four rotating members (SD,RS,C,SS;S1,C1,(R2),R1(C2),S2) that are associated to rotate about the first axis (O1), a first motor/generator (MG1) having a second axis aligned with the first axis of the two degree-of-freedom gear mechanism, and a second motor/generator (MG2) having a third axis (O2) offset from and parallel to the first axis. The first motor/generator is drivingly connected with the first rotating member (SD;S1) of the two degree-of-freedom gear mechanism. The second motor/generator is drivingly connected with the second rotating member (SS,S2) of the two degree-of-freedom gear mechanism (2,31).
