The arrangement has a rail section(s) with identically wound primary windings arranged sequentially in the longitudinal direction, a pilot unit that generates an a.c. voltage pilot signal whose frequency normally corresponds to a base frequency and generator circuits, each permanently connected to the pilot unit so they generate equal frequency and phase supply voltages depending on the pilot signal and each with a primary winding arrangement. The arrangement has at least one rail section (1a-1d,3,5,8,9) with a number of primary windings wound in the same way and arranged sequentially in the longitudinal direction, a pilot unit that generates a pilot signal in the form of an a.c. voltage whose frequency normally corresponds to a base frequency and a number of generator circuits, each permanently connected to the pilot unit so that they generate equal frequency and phase supply voltages depending on the pilot signal and each with a primary winding arrangement. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a carriage for use on a rail arrangement (b) and a transport system with an inventive rail arrangement and at least one inventive carriage.
