Vehicle parcel shelf

A parcel shelf (20) for a mounting in a vehicle in which the rear seat (26) can move slidably forwards or backwards within the cabin of the vehicle. The parcel shelf is movable between a non-extended position, corresponding to a rear-most position of the rear seat (26) and an extended position, corresponding to a forward-most position of the rear seat (26). The parcel shelf (20), thereby, serves to maintain vehicle security by ensuring that the luggage compartment of the vehicle is covered at all times whilst also being aesthetically acceptable.
