Latching device for a vehicle roof

A locking hook (3) fits in a U-shaped steel plate connecting link (10) to be moved by a bolt (8) and a pin (9) from closing to opening positions on a defined track. A geared motor (4) swivels a driving lever (15) linked to the locking hook. This link is formed by several levers (11-13) interlinked with articulated joints.
