Gas distributor substrate (11) contains a porous support material and catalyst particles (12) which are distributed uniformly over the whole volume of the substrate. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) production of the gas distributor substrate; and (2) membrane-electrode unit for a low temperature fuel cell.
