A hydraulic master cylinder (1;31) for vehicle has: a cylinder main body (2;32); a sleeve (10;33); a plurality of seal rings (19;49); a plug (11;34); a lid member (12;35) comprising the sleeve (10;33) and the plug (11;34); and a piston (16;46) inserted into the cylinder bore (2a,2b,2c,2d;32b,32c,32d) so as to form hydraulic pressure chamber (18;48) between the piston (16;46) and the lid member (12;35); wherein the sleeve (10;33) is inserted into the cylinder main body (2;32) with an open end thereof being made to face an interior of the cylinder main body (2;32) so as to dispose the seal rings (19;49) between a circumferential wall of the cylinder bore (2a,2b,2c,2d;32b,32c,32d) and the sleeve (10;33) and in such a manner that the seal rings (19;49) hold the outlet port (10d;33d) therebetween, and the plug (11;34) is fixedly threaded in the opening at the one end so as to prevent the dislocation of the sleeve (10;33).
