Multifunctional box for releasable attachment in the interior space of a vehicle

A first box part (4) closes with a cover (6) that swivels away and, when closed over, forms an arm rest. A second box part (5) contains different functional components. A locking mechanism (24) in the base of a multi-functional box (MFB) links the box to a console with a quick release mechanism. The console is designed specifically for the vehicle and forms a support for the MFB.
