"textContent": "There is provided an adsorbent degradation determining system that is capable of suppressing attachment of impurities to a sensor element (18a) of a humidity sensor (18), thereby enabling the humidity sensor (18) to preserve excellent detection accuracy, and thereby capable of performing determination of degradation of the adsorbent (11) with accuracy. A humidity sensor (18) has a sensor element (18a), and is disposed near an adsorbent (11) that adsorbs hydrocarbons contained in exhaust gases, for detecting a humidity within the exhaust pipe. A heater (19) is caused to operate to heat the sensor element (18a) when the engine is in operation. Degradation of the adsorbent (11) is determined based on a result of humidity detection executed by the humidity sensor (18) after the engine has stopped.",
