Vehicle door assembly

The invention relates to a vehicle door assembly for a vehicle (1) having a vehicle body structure (2), said door assembly comprising a front door having a front reinforcement beam arrangement (11, 12) and being pivotally connected to said vehicle body structure (2) by means of a front hinge arrangement (5, 6), and a rear door having a rear reinforcement beam arrangement (13, 14) and being pivotally connected to said vehicle body structure (2) by means of a rear hinge arrangement (7, 8), said front and rear reinforcement beam arrangements (11, 12, 13, 14) being arranged for absorption and distribution of energy resulting from impact forces (FF, FR, FS) occuring during a collision involving said vehicle (1). The front reinforcement beam arrangement (11, 12) and the rear reinforcement beam arrangement (13, 14) are functionally integrated and cooperate with each other and with said vehicle body structure (2) during said absorption and distribution of energy. By means of the invention, an improved vehicle door structure is provided, which provide absorption and distribution of impact forces during collisions with a high degree of safety for the occupants of the vehicle.
