Warning strategy during lane recognition by a vehicle

The method involves warning the driver if the lane detector detects a critical situation. The time-point, the duration and/or the type of warning signal is a function of the traffic situation and/or the traveling situation and/or the vehicle surroundings. The warning is switched off immediately or via a ramp if a driver reaction in the opposite direction is detected.
