Split electro-mechanical vehicle torsion bar and method for roll-stabilisation in the event of failure or shut-down of the active stabilisation system
DRIVE
June 9, 2004
The sectional motor vehicle anti-roll bar for active stabilization has an electromechanical actuator for opposed tensioning of the two stabilizer bar sections (5,5'). Each actuator has an electric motor and a drive (3). The electric motor can be operated as a generator when the motor phase is short circuited directly or through a fixed or variable resistance. The motor can be a brushless constant current motor. Claims include a method of stabilizing a motor vehicle using the anti-roll bar.
