The plant for the handling of bulk material delivered from especially a rail vehicle has at least one and preferably several container-type catchers (20) for the bulk material installed in the track foundation and which are open on the vehicle side. A vacuum line (26) is connected to the catcher. The catcher is in the form of a trough or funnel with at least one delivery opening at its lowest point. The delivery opening has an outlet chamber with a suction opening on one side orientated towards the outside air, and a connection (28,32) on the other side for the vacuum.
