AIR CONDITIONER FOR VEHICLE
DRIVE

In a vertical unitary air conditioner for supplying an air to be conditioned from an air blowing unit 3 disposed toward a passenger's seat to an air conditioning unit 4 disposed in an approximate center of an instrument panel of a car, a duct connecting section 25 is provided at an end of an intermediate duct 5 disposed so as to incline obliquely toward a lower end of the air conditioning unit 4, and a bottom face 28 of a passage inside the duct connecting section 25 is formed to be continuous with a lower wall face of a passage inside the intermediate duct 5 and to extend almost horizontally. Thus, air flowing obliquely downward through the intermediate duct 25 can be directed upward at a portion of the air conditioning unit 4 located more outwardly (closer to the passenger's seat) than an end of the evaporator 33 adjacent to the passenger's seat, and the air is allowed to flow almost horizontally into an introduction space S1. This prevents the air flow from becoming turbulent, alleviates the deflection of the air flow passing through the evaporator 33 located above, and prevents the splatter of condensate against the evaporator 33.
