The fuel injection valve has a jet body provided with an injection opening controlled by a jet needle (7), which is spring-loaded into the closed position of the injection opening and which is raised into the open position by the pressure of the fuel to be injected. The jet needle is provided with a guide section and a jet needle band (12) of increased diameter, defining a gap (18) with the wall of the reception bore for communication between a supply space (16) and a damping space (15), a stepped shoulder (20) in the bore wall providing a throttle point adjacent an angled control edge (21) of the needle band.
