The compressor arrangement has a compressor unit (3) driven by an internal combustion engine (1) and an auxiliary compressor unit (8) fluidically in parallel with the engine-driven compressor unit and driven by an electric motor (7) with a control unit (6) that indirectly controls the additional compressor unit by switching the electric motor on and off.
