Trailer coupling ring comprises a coupling element (3) having especially a ring (31), ball socket or similar device, a spacer element (2), and a flange having a rectangular, especially square base surface with corner regions (11) and central side regions (12). Fixing openings (4) are provided in the corner regions. The central side regions have no fixing openings. Preferred Features: The central side regions extend over at least 20% of the longitudinal extension of the sides (13) of the flange. At least one fixing opening is arranged in each corner region. The spacer element and the flange are made in one piece.
