Engine control for vehicle using electronic key system

An identification controller (11) verifies the identification code of an electronic key (12) when any of the restart conditions is satisfied that does not correspond to a restart request from a driver during an idle stop of an engine (1). A starter motor (2), engine controller (3), motor controller (4), battery (13) and inverter (17) are prohibited from restarting the engine if verification fails. An independent claim is also included for a control device.
