A throttle body (1) has a gear case (7) containing a valve gear (4) fixed to one end of a throttle shaft (20), an intermediate reduction gear (5) rotatable around an intermediate shaft (26), a pinion gear (6) fixed to a motor shaft (23), and a stopper (31) to define the full close position of a throttle valve (2). The shafts are in alignment with each other in the gear case.
