Backrest optimised in weight for a motor vehicle seat

The backrest is designed as a rectangular frame (10) preferably made of hollow profiles reinforcing a lightweight rectangular sheet (12). Two profiles (18, 18A, 18B) are attached to the front of the sheet (12) forming an inverted Y-shape. A long item like a snowboard can be passed through a rectangular opening (20) integrated in the sheet (12). All parts are covered with a suitable textile material.
