Rechargeable galvanic cell (1) comprises a lithium-intercalating electrode and a tightly closed thin flexible housing made from two metal or metal/plastic composite foils joined together by an adhesive or sealing layer. A PTC element (3) is connected in series within the cell in one of the electrical connections (2).
