DRIVE April 28, 2004
Source
An initial number of fuel injectors is operated in a first mode during an engine cycle in which one fuel shot per injector per engine cycle is realized. A second set of injectors is then operated in a second mode during the same engine cycle using a corresponding set of fuel delivery characteristics. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a method for operating a fuel injection system; and (b) a method for operating fuel injectors.
